Must have for Graphic Design lovers

This was the first Victionary book I ever purchased and I have never regretted it since. I actually bought this one at a store for full retail price when it came out for $40. So please get it on Amazon while it lasts!! It's so much cheaper!

What I love most about this book is how it gives you these little tabs that you can pull out for convenience. It looks cool too. But I love going to this book for reference and inspiration when I'm designing. Although this is no replacement for a swatch book, there are a lot of great design ideas that WORK that are published and you can get a feel of how the colors impact the particular designs. It's a good way to get a 'feel' for using colors in your own design, especially if you're into using one particular color palette in a project.

Not to mention, it's just an awesome visual explosion of imagery to look through. Even my non Graphic Designer friends think the book is cool just for looking at all the cool designs in different colors.

Awesome Book for Design Inspiration

I saw a friend's copy of this book and bought it the next day. Seriously, it's that cool.

I love that it's organized by color, and it really demonstrates effectively how color impacts the feel of the design/brand. I generally gravitate towards warmer colors, so I was immediately drawn to those sections first, but was surprised at how I was pulled in by the greens and blues as well.

The designs in this book are crazy good, and although I've looked at it more times than I can count it's definitely still in the idea-inspiration rotation on my bookshelf. Plus, the cover is awesome!

Great Information - Especially for the layperson

I purchased this book to use in my research for my presentation on art therapy used in the treatment programs for autistic children. This was a wonderful, insightful book that increased my interest in the subject matter. I learned a lot about autism, as well as art therapy. It is easy reading (especially for a college research project!) yet gave me real data that I could use in my report. The subject matter is handled in both a professional manner, as well as having a personal "voice", or tone. I would recommend this for anyone with an interest in art therapy, autism, or to the college student (or perhaps professional) who is doing research on the effectiveness of art therapy when used with autistic children.

I purchased this book while writing my Graduate Thesis Project. It is full of insightful research and lists several way to approach the issue of teaching children with autism in the art environment without overstimulating them and still achieving maximum results. A good piece of qualitative writing for any teacher.

Autism and early intervention

My research is in art therapy for people with autism, particularly in the 6 - 10 age group. This publication has provide me with quite a number of very useful strategies to consider while observing the process of the child participating.

The book is full of ideas for both parents and carers/ facilitators who want something different to try with children and gain further insight into the mind of the autistic.
